Eat More Plants

Hello friends!

I hope this blog post finds you well and happy, rested, and nourished. If not, never fear, we can always turn the dial in that direction.

Remember last week when I was sharing with you about prana, the intelligent life giving energy that permeates all living things, and I said that breathing consciously is the best way to draw more prana into your body? Well, that holds true, but there is another way, and I’d like to share that with you today.

If you want to invite more prana into your system, have more energy, experience increased mental clarity, and sport a high functioning immune system, eat more plants.

Plants contain higher levels of vitamins and minerals, and have a more dense nutrient content than other sources of food. These nutrients are more bioavailable than foods like meat and dairy, and they are easier to digest.

You know what else plants have that other food sources are lacking? PRANA!

Plants grow from the Earth. They receive water from the rain, and energy from the sun. They are moved by the air around them, and sleep under the stars. Plants are interconnected with Nature until the moment they are harvested. The prana in them at harvest will start to slowly dissipate over time, as you may have witnessed in the vegetable drawer in your fridge. However, if you get them as close to harvest as possible, and prepare and consume them while their color is bright, you can begin to up your pranic intake bite by bite.

You don’t have to go raw vegan, simply let plants take up more space in your shopping cart and on your plate. Spend more time in the produce section of the store, or visit a farmer’s market, to get to know what is freshest and eat that. If you can, pause after eating it and notice the difference in how fresh food makes you feel.

Eating a plant based diet is about consciously creating your future body.

In yoga, the physical body is known as the Anna-maya kosha, or, the food body. It is created and renewed by the food we eat. Eating mindfully and choosing food with high prana is a practice of intentionally uploading more vitality into the system so it can be made of the highest quality ingredients in the most efficient way.

Think about the body you want to live in, then shop, cook, and eat to make it happen.

Let me know how it goes! I would love to hear from you.

Peace, love, and plants, P
